Membership

staircaseThe Richmond Bridal Association is the only group for Richmond wedding professionals that requires a standard for membership.

The RBA was incorporated as a non-profit organization in April of 2011. We have an elected Board, and all members are instrumental in making decisions about the direction the group will take in the future. We encourage participation and schedule 8 meetings a year, skipping months with major wedding shows and the busiest wedding months in order to accommodate our members’ busy schedules.

We do require that applicants have been in business with a license for at least two years, and that you put full-time hours into your business. We have a charge for membership but we don’t charge to come to each meeting.

All of our meetings include a networking component. We also have business-to-business discussions, and expert speakers presenting topics of interest to our members. We try to structure our meetings so that some are during the daytime and some are in the evening. Meetings are always on the 3rd Wednesday of the month unless otherwise announced.

Benefits of membership include monthly networking meetings that include business development topics, links from our active facebook page to yours and shares of your posts on facebook and twitter, ability to promote your business on our website and blog at no extra charge, a page for your business on our pinterest account, exposure in our monthly newsletter that’s sent out to 250+ brides, exposure for your business through RBA at the Richmond Wedding Experience, and exposure for your business through RBA ads placed in major media outlets.

Membership in RBA also shows brides that your business is established and respected in Richmond. Membership in RBA is more than a networking opportunity, it’s a credential.

We welcome more than one business per category, and we don’t require that you only refer business to other members. You can work with whoever you like and refer business to whoever you like, whether they’re an RBA member or not.
